We buy sparingly.
We reuse prodigiously.

We try our best and then some.
Jewelry is a luxury, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t try our best to make it planet friendly. Since our founding in 2003, we’ve used recycled gold in at least 80% of our jewelry. The industry has since caught up with us and bare is proud to use EcoGold in creation of bare’s distinctive jewelry. EcoGold does not harm communities, workers and the environment.
EcoGold is recycled from the Earth’s existing metal supply in an environmentally friendly refinery. “New” gold is purchased from other environmental friendly refineries & mines that follow these guidelines:
- Appreciation of basic human rights outlined in international conventions & law.
- Free, prior & informed consent of communities affected by mining operations.
- Provide safe working conditions, respect for workers rights and labor standards.
- Keep operations out of areas of armed or militarized conflict, protected areas, fragile ecosystems or other areas of high conservation value.
- Do not force communities off their land, dump mine waste into water or generate sulfuric acid.
- Disclose information about social and environmental effects of projects.

Manufacturing
Bare Jewelry, Handbags, and Bones are designed and produced in sunny Southern California. We like to keep things local and support leather craftsmen and jewelers.
Everything shipped from our studio passes several layers of quality control. Rest assured that the item you are receiving conveys the aesthetic we strive towards.
To that end, the imperfections and gentle shadings of bare jewelry & handbags should not be regarded as defects. They are characteristic of the handmade nature that gives bare jewelry & handbags its distinctive beauty and dramatic texture.
Please remember that bare jewelry & bare bones pieces are delicate miniature pieces of art that should be handled with care & stored properly.
Color card
Bare Handbags endeavors to select the best buttery Italian leather skins. To this end, color lots may sometimes vary approximately 5% and as with most online photos, actual articles may vary from their digital representation due to monitor calibration. Shipping
FedEx is our preferred vendor. Unless otherwise communicated, all orders are shipped FedEx ground.
Handbag deliveries will not require signature confirmation unless specified. Jewelry deliveries will always require signature confirmation so please make sure to provide an appropriate address for package deliveries. You will receive a tracking number once the order has shipped.
We wish that we could ship within 2 business days, but realistically, we are a compact outfit that generally cuts to order. For in-stock leather goods, we will ship goods the next business day. Jewelry will ship within 7 business days. If you need your items sooner, feel free to send us an email with your request. We will try our best to meet your needs.
Delays & Cancellations
If, for any reason, an item is on backorder, you will be notified of status and shipping date via email. Most backorders ship within 2-4 weeks.
Returns & Exchanges
For our leather goods, we accept returns on all full-price orders that arrive back in our Santa Monica shipping office within 14 days from the day the merchandise is delivered. The merchandise must be returned in the exact condition in which it was shipped in order to receive a refund less shipping charges.

Please include with your return a copy of your order including your contact information and indicate whether you prefer a return or exchange. Please allow up to 10 business days for your refund or exchange to be processed.
For our jewelry, we will issue a store credit less shipping and a 20% restocking fee on all full-price orders that arrive back in our Santa Monica shipping office within 14 days from the day the merchandise is delivered. The merchandise must be returned in the exact condition in which it was shipped in order to receive a bare store credit.
Sales Tax
All items shipped to addresses in California will be charged sales tax.
International Orders
Orders are billed in US dollars & shipped by FedEx at their international rates. If, for some reason, FedEx does not deliver to your location, we will use USPS International and shipping will be charged at their corresponding rate.
Additionally, international customers are liable for all import duties and customs that will be charged by your country. Payment will be necessary to release your order from customs before delivery.
Jewelry Repairs
Repairs are free for bare jewelry made of PRECIOUS metals only within 3 years of purchase date and damaged during normal use (does not include improper storage, packing, loss, etc). Please contact us at service[at]barecollection.com for additional information and/or quotes on repairs. Shipping costs to and from our LA studio are the responsibility of our clients.
Care Instructions
To rid brass, bronze, white bronze, and rose alloy pieces of heavy tarnish, Bare reccomends sprinkling salt on a slice of lemon and rubbing gently onto the surface of the metal. Rinse with water, and dry with a lint free cloth. Only use the provided polishing cloth on unplated and uncoated items, such as brass, bronze, and white bronze. Do not excessively use the polish cloth on plated items or items with coating, such as the rose alloy, as it may remove plating or coating. Bare is not responsible for removal of any plating or coating due to normal wear of the item. All items can be re- coated or plated for a nominal fee.
Privacy
We respect your privacy. All personal information gathered while purchasing bare jewelry/handbags/bones will never be sold to or shared with a third party for any reason.
